ELLOWES' OFSTED SUCCESS
Pupils and staff at Gornal's Ellowes Hall Sports College are celebrating after receiving an encouraging Ofsted inspection.
Inspectors visited the school on the 15th and 16th of April and reported that it was 'improving at a fast pace', with a 'positive ethos'. Attention was drawn to the 'remarkable increase' in students achieving five or more GCSE grades.
A similar rapid improvement was noted in the Sixth Form, which had been judged inadequate in 2004.
