My father came to work for Dr MacMillan in Upper Gornal about 1925/26 and subsequently set up in partnership with Dr Cyril Bekenn. Their surgery was on the other side of Water Road. This is the Post Office I remember from my childhood before it moved to ? Jewkes shop on the other side of the "new" surgery where I started my general practice career - subsequently moving to Bull Street. What do you reckon, Yampy readers?
