Lakes Club Plays Out to Motown Magic
Steve Garratt, the Gornal DJ who helped to organise the recent highly successful
charity event at the Lakes Club

is organising yet another Motown night there on Saturday 19th June 2004 at 8pm.
The main beneficiary last time was the Mary Stevens Hospice, but on this occasion Steve intends to
make a further donation to the
Emily Hart Trust - and hopes to
squeeze another charity in too, depending on the generosity of all you Yampy punters!
Steve tells us that this will be one of the last functions at the Lakes before its final closure,
currently thought to be set for the end of July.
"We have two rooms on the night" Steve told us. "Motown will be playing in the big room and upstairs
we'll have Northern Soul, a bit of a rarer sound. Admission will give access to both
rooms - an interesting mix as I've never seen a venue cater for both types before."
