Your Community Park Needs You!
A
new park project in Upper Gornal is looking for ideas and inspiration from local residents to help turn it into a
thriving centre for the local community.
Prior’s Mill Park, on the Oval estate, had for years been a headache for local residents. However, Dudley Council
claims that since Housing Services
erected a security fence last autumn, the incidents of anti-social behaviour in the area have dropped to almost zero.
The park has again become a peaceful haven and people are now being urged to come up with ideas on how to transform
the green space into a colourful community facility that everyone, young and old, will want to use.
Lead Member for Housing, Councillor Michael Evans, said:
‘The work we have started at Prior’s Mill is just the beginning. I hope that once we have some further ideas on board
we can, in the spring, go to the next stage of involving other agencies to help us obtain funding to carry out
improvements to the park. But for now we need ideas and want to hear from everyone in Prior’s Mill about what they want.’
Local residents can contact either the Estate Management Officer on 812193 or the Priority Neighbourhood Manager
on 01384 812298 to suggest ideas.
