Neighbourhood Watch in Uper Gornal
Upper Gornal Crime Crackdown
|
A brand new Neighbourhood Watch scheme has been launched in Upper Gornal.
And locals are hoping it will have a dramatic impact on the area, improving safety and confidence amongst local residents.
Promoted by Dudley Council, West Midlands Police, and local residents, the scheme has got off the ground with signs
being positioned at Tudor Road, in the
Oval Priority Neighbourhood
area of Upper Gornal.
The Priority Neighbourhood Initiative works with local residents to help improve the safety and well-being of the area,
in partnership with other agencies.
Dudley Council’s Priority Neighbourhood Manager for the Oval, Judith Bennett, commented:
‘Neighbourhood Watch is all about helping to not only improve safety on the streets,
but just as importantly reduce people’s fear of crime.
We should all be able to set foot outside our front doors with confidence.
Knowing that neighbours are watching out for one another is a great reassurance.’
