North Dudley Area Committee Meeting - 2nd December 2003
Here's your monthly opportunity to get involved in local politics; the
North Dudley Committee will meet at
Queen Victoria School
in Sedgley, at 6.30pm next Tuesday (2/12/03). Buses 558, 541 and 545 pass close by.
Covering
Gornal, Sedgley and Coseley, the meeting provides a platform to discuss local
issues with local councillors. High on the agenda this month is the proposed declassification
of the B4163, Bradleys Lane Coseley. If successful, this may also be of interest to Gornal
residents along Jews Lane and Robert Street, whose only way of securing a
reduction in traffic volume would be to fight a similar battle for declassification
Although Yampy has lost a lot of faith in the Area Committee since our
"Gornalgate" experiences with
Councillors Stanley and Millward, we would still encourage people to attend. At best it is
the closest you will get to grass roots politics in action, and at worst (and, as
currently constituted, this is far more likely) it's a worthwhile insight into how not to
run a whelk stall.
