Mum's the Word in Library Competition
Bookworms can serve up a treat for their mums on Mother’s Day next month, thanks to Dudley Council’s libraries.
The borough’s 18 libraries are running a competition for mother-loving kids to pen a story telling why their mum is the best
in the world.
And five winners can scoop top Mothering Sunday prizes including special Mum’s meals for two at three restaurants in the
borough and bouquets of flowers.
The competition is the brainchild of Brierley Hill children’s librarian Donna Taylor and library assistant Marie Ashmore,
and is open to all ages.
“What better way to show that you love your mum than by putting pen to paper and winning a fabulous prize for her as well?,”
said Donna.
Councillor Angus Adams, Lead Member for Education and Lifelong Learning added: “Our thanks go to the businesses who are
supporting this and it’s another example of the role that our libraries play.”
To enter simply write a story that tells why your Mum is the best. These can be handed in at any library or e-mailed
to
donna.taylor@dudley.gov.uk and must be received by March 12.
