Housing Hoax
A
letter has been sent to a small number of Dudley Council tenants this week regarding lettings policy to Council properties.
Dudley Council Housing Services declares today that this letter is a hoax and in no way whatsoever represents the views
or policies of Dudley Council.
The letter contains many points which indicate that it is not an official Dudley Council letter. This includes an
incorrect letterhead with wrong wording, no phone number, and no address contact information. Two contact names in
the letter – Mr Buoyes and Mr Hafran – are not members of staff of Dudley Council.
Speaking today, Director of Housing John Stringer, said:
‘This letter, alleging changes to tenancy conditions, is totally incorrect and holds no element of truth whatsoever.
I would like to reassure all tenants that their tenancy conditions will not be changing.’
‘If anyone has received one of these letters we would urge them to contact us. We are fully investigating the matter
and will be pursuing the perpetrator of this bogus letter. We have launched an internal investigation and
are also contacting the police.’
