Dudley Garden Competition
Calling all green-fingered Council tenants! Dudley’s annual Garden Competition has been launched,
promising to be bigger and better than ever.
The competition has a plethora of trophies and prizes up for grabs – such as the Thompson Cup for the overall winner
(with a £75 prize) and eleven other trophies, shields, and cups. Judging will be local horticultural expert Leslie Allen,
while presentation of the prizes will fall to new Mayor, Councillor Malcolm Knowles.
If anyone feels they can match the explosion of colour of the Garbett’s garden, application forms can be found in all
area housing offices, in the current edition of tenants’ magazine HomeAffairs, or by ringing the Tenant Participation Team
on 01384 815168. Requests can also be emailed to:
participation@dudley.gov.uk
Lead Member for Housing, Councillor Michael Evans, said today: ‘The annual garden competition is a great opportunity
for people to show-off their skills and demonstrate the diversity of both plants and wildlife that are on offer
in Dudley’s gardens. I’d like to wish all participants the best of luck.’
