Dudley Borough Summer festival 2004
Organisers are putting the finishing touches to the fifth Dudley Borough Festival programme.
It promises to be the most exciting event to date, bringing tens of thousands of people in to the borough between
June 12 and July 11.
Among the events is a summer music and fireworks spectacular at Himley Hall and Park called Dancing in the Park
on 03 July. The following day (04 July) top stars will descend on the park for the hugely popular Summer XS.
Last year the headlining gig attracted the likes of Blazin’ Squad, Kym Marsh, Liberty X and Craig David pulling
in a crowd of 14,000. This year’s line up is guaranteed to be just as exciting.
There’s also the Caribbean Festival, under 5’s day and art exhibitions. Dudley Performing Arts is putting on a packed
programme during the festival including Rock the Castle, Dance Odyssey, Dudley Youth Music Live and a
Midsummer Nights Dream Tudor event.
Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, Charles Fraser
MacNamara told us:
“Every year Dudley Council’s Borough Festival gets better and better and I know that this year’s will be no exception.
We will be publishing a full list of events in the next few weeks and hope that once again local people will turn out
and support a festival that is literally on their doorstep.”
