Environment Zone Praised
Dudley Environment Zone
Robert St. Gornal
|
Government officials in London have praised the Dudley Environment Zone, based at Roberts Primary School in
Lower Gornal.
The Department of Education and Skills chose the Dudley Environment Zone as the website of the month.
Lindsay Newton, Head of Development, Directorate of Education and Lifelong Learning, Dudley Council, said:
"We are absolutely delighted that our new website has been singled out by the DfES. Officials contacted us last week to
say that they were ‘very impressed indeed’ with the new site and felt that the online resources were just ‘fantastic’."
The £300,000 purpose built Environment Zone was marked down for closure by Dudley Council earlier this year but 1,600
local people campaigned to keep it open.
Mr Newton added:
"We are now offering our online resources to schools across the country through the Government funded Curriculum Online
programme. Schools can join up by visiting the site at www.ezonemag.net .
The Zone's website is at www.ezonemag.net.
