Friends of the Environment Zone
Dudley Environment Zone

Local
residents have put their weight behind new plans to make the Dudley Environment Zone a centre of excellence for
environmental and sustainable development.
The £300,000 purpose built Environment Zone, based at Roberts Primary school, was saved from closure earlier this year
after 1,600 people campaigned to keep it open. A small committee of local people have now formed a
"Friends of the Environment Zone" to help the Council apply for external funding and run social and educational activities
at the Zone.
Lindsay Newton, Head of Development, Dudley Council and Chair of the Management Group, said:
"We are delighted that so many people have come forward to help us. The first AGM elected a Chairperson, Treasurer,
Secretary and a committee of nearly thirty people to serve for the next twelve months. They have already started to
apply for lottery funding and have organised a special activity day for youngsters on Wednesday 27th October.
Sara Woodall , newly elected Chair of the Friends said:
"The Friends want to play a really important role over the coming months. If anyone would like to join the group please
get in contact on 01384 814170."
