AFC Gornal Shine in Friendlies
Hi there, fellow Gornalers! Here's my latest update for Afc Gornal.
So far Afc have played three friendlies and won the lot. Playing at their former home pitch at Neweys in Tipton
the lads have put two Wolverhampton Sunday league teams to the sword, whilst in a superb encounter against Midland
Combination side Enville Athletic they came out with a hard fought 1-0 victory.
Results and scorers.
Afc Gornal 4 (Jones 2, Malpass, Upton) Portabello 1
Afc Gornal 1 (Jones) Enville Athletic 0
Afc Gornal 6 (Jones 2, Parkes 2, Bates, Atkins) HillyFields 2
Next Match: Wednesday 18th August .v. T.B.A Kick of 6.45pm at Neweys.
Round up:
Midfielder John Magher Seems certain to miss a large chunk if not the whole the season with a knee cartilage injury.
Magher Who missed most of last season with the injury may be forced to go under the surgeons knife to cure the problem.
Former Aston Villa And Crewe Alexandra prodigy John Malpass played in the sides 1-0 win over Enville and the club may
be looking to bring him in on a permanent basis.
