David Nightingale has been in touch with us to ask if any of our readers can help him to find out more about the house he has lived in for more than 20 years. The house is on the corner of Rock Road, opposite Hurst Hill Labour Club. David writes: It was built around 1894. I have a copy of a very old document saying that the land was purchased in 1874, listing some names: ALFRED RICKETTS HUDSON OF PERSHORE, ROBERT WOODWARD OF ARLEY CASTLE, FREDRICK WILLIAM ALLEN OF HURST HILL ROAD. I do not know if they were the purchasers of the land or if they went on to build the house.
